Statement:
|
|
The
figurative quality of the rubber units is suggestive
not literal. The viewer could bring a variety of interpretations
to the piece depending on their point of view. It could
read as a whimsical community of abstract figures that
are carried away by their centipede like clothes pin
feet. A more challenging or sexually suggestive viewpoint
would see these units as phallic forms or oversized
condoms on the move. The suggestive nature of this installation
and the individual units provokes a variety of responses
from the viewer that add depth and continued interest
in the art work.
